What this policy covers

This policy explains what data the app and its providers process and how we use it to deliver the service (account creation with Firebase Authentication and sync of your two lists — sessions and breathing exercises) and how to delete your data. Creating an account is optional; you can use the app without an account. Sync across devices requires an account.

Information we collect and why

Optional account: You can use Respira / Bilka without creating an account. If you do not create one, we do not process your email or Firebase UID and your lists are not synced to our servers.

  • Account data: your email (if provided) and your Firebase Authentication UID to create and manage your account and identify your data for sync.
  • Sync content: your lists of sessions and breathing exercises, linked to your UID so they can sync across devices.
  • Technical metadata: minimal data needed for reliability and security (e.g., timestamps, device information, and IP address at sign-up) to detect and prevent abuse.
  • Advertising/measurement identifiers (ad-supported version): the app and/or its SDKs may access your device’s Advertising ID for showing and measuring ads. We do not store this identifier on our own servers; it may be processed by the ad provider. You can reset or delete the Advertising ID in your device settings. In the EEA, consent collected via Google UMP determines whether personalized, non-personalized, or limited ads are shown.
  • Approximate location: derived from your device’s IP address and used by the ad provider to deliver, measure, and secure ads. We do not store this on our servers.
  • Usage data (improvement & diagnostics): anonymized or aggregated events that help us understand app performance. We do not link this to your account identity.

We do not collect special-category (sensitive) data.

Third-party services we use

The app integrates the following services which may process data as described in their policies:

  • Google Play Services
  • Firebase Authentication / Firebase
  • AdMob (ads, if enabled)

Advertising (AdMob) — data collected & shared

When ads are enabled, the app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). According to Google’s documentation, the SDK may collect and share the following data automatically to serve, measure and protect ads:

  • Device identifiers (Advertising ID, App Set ID)
  • IP address (may be used to estimate the device’s approximate location)
  • App interactions (e.g., ad views, taps)
  • Diagnostics & crash data

Purposes: advertising/marketing, analytics/measurement, and fraud prevention/security. Ads are encrypted in transit. In the EEA, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect consent; if you refuse, we show non-personalized or limited ads.

We use Firebase (Google) as our processor for authentication and data hosting (Cloud Firestore / Realtime Database, Cloud Storage). Primary hosting region: EU (europe-west). Data may be transferred outside the EEA (e.g., for support or redundancy); when this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

How we use data

  • Provide the service you asked for: create and manage your account and sync your lists between devices.
  • Security & abuse prevention: protect accounts, investigate misuse, and maintain reliability.
  • Improve the app: understand crashes and quality using anonymized or aggregated metrics.
  • Ads (free tier): show and measure ads if AdMob is enabled.
  • Ad integrity & fraud prevention (by ad providers): detect invalid activity and enforce ad policies.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it except as described above to run the service.

How long we keep data

  • Account & synced data: kept while your account is active.
  • After you delete your account: production data is removed without undue delay.

Delete your account & data

  • In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is irreversible.
  • On the web: contact us via support.

Your choices

  • Consent (EEA): open Settings → Privacy → Manage consent in the app to review your ad choices at any time.
  • Advertising ID: on Android, you can reset or delete the Advertising ID in system settings (this disables personalized ads).

Security

We apply appropriate measures, including encryption in transit and at rest (provided by Firebase), strict access controls, restrictive Firebase Security Rules (for example, checks on request.auth.uid), logging, and periodic reviews and testing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your information.

Custom Images Policy (Premium & non-Premium)

Premium users can personalize the app with custom images. When you add a custom image, a copy of the original is stored only inside the app’s private folder on your device so you can reuse it later. You can add, view, and delete these images at any time. We do not access, share, or transfer these copies outside the app. Non-Premium users can visualize custom images within the app; unlike Premium users, these images are not stored in the app’s internal folder for later use.

Children’s privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes in the app or by other appropriate means. The latest version is always available at this URL.
